Caravan registration

Has anyone got experience in changing a Dutch (or British) registered caravan into Spanish registration. Do you have to go to ITV? what will the costs roughly be? Thanks in advance.

To change your plates from the UK, the door must open on the side of the road you are driving on, this is for safety. If it is on the left then you cannot change to Spanish plates.

That's not trues it does not matter which side the door is
More like which side of the bed did the tester get out of

Thanks for this fast, complete and clear reply. It's all clear to me now. Also the story about smaller trailers (less then 750 kg) was welcome since I own such a trailer too.
