Spanish meat is far tastier than anything I've had in the U.K. Mince is leaner. Chicken is much nicer. No water. . Cubed beef has no fat on it. Why anybody would boil mince for 30 minutes beats me. Fry it off and then add what veggies etc you want. Never used a British Butcher in 17 years.

:text-goodpost:

We had a joint of lamb from Consum last weekend. Rather big but they cut it in two for us and I don't know where it came from but it was the juiciest, most tender lamb we've had in a long time.
Oh, and I'm with Jan on the Spanish sausages. Not so keen on chorizo except in a stir fry but the pinky red ones are great.
Mind you, as someone once said, He who likes sausages and respects the law should never see either being made.

If you go to many of the Spanish supermarkets you can buy "Carne para guisar". Basically off cuts of meat. Just ask for weight and "picada" (minced). Simple. Good quality mincemeat no additives of any kind. ;)
