Front passenger electric window not working (Ford Focus approx 2002).
Looks like its the solenoid mechanism (Ford call it a regulator for some reason).
Has anyone had any experience in replacing this?

Are there any mechanics that could give me price to do the work ?

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem with my passenger side window on my Ford Fiesta and I took it to the Quesada Garage by Mini Golf and they called it a regulator as well. They quoted around 60/70€ for a second hand one or brand new slightly more it just depends on how much you want to spend obviously fitting the part has to go on top as well.

You can also YouTube it as well and do it yourself by taking off the panel and doing it that way...that's if your clever enough to do it lol I however am not.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info.
I've looked at YouTube and I've also partly stripped down the door to see a bit more.
It looks a bit tricky to say the least.
Did the Quesada Garage replace it ok?
(I'm looking for a Garage that I know has done the work before)

2sheds I took my car back to the Garage I bought it from as I've only had it a few months on the off chance they'd replace it for me and fortunately they did. But tbh I always taken my other cars to Quesada Garage for most things if needs be and they've always done a good job and I've have never had any complaints. Shaun and his team are great any problems they'll sort out straight away. I would highly recommend them and their all English as well.

Hope this helps

My drivers side done exactly the same. The regulator stopped working but I was still getting a small click from the switch when operated.
I removed the door panel and reconnected the switch, turned ignition on and whilst I was operating the switch I started to hit the regulator motor with a hammer, hey presto it worked, the window went up and down as it should. I then gave it all a good spray of wd40 and it still works ok 6 months later.
So try this first it will save you a fortune. Good luck.

The Ford forums do say that tapping the motor with a small hammer whilst operating the switch usually does the trick, so it would be worth a try.

Thanks for the advice.
I did try tapping the solenoid without success.
Sounds like Quesada Garage might be my best bet.

It's the window winder motor that needs to be tapped with a hammer, not the relay/solenoid.
