It is advised and safer for cyclists to ride two abreast in order that passing vehicles can do so quickly and effectively.

This should really be single file - as the only reason they peddle side by side is to talk to each other, wobbling while trying to listen to each other.

Also would like to add quite often in large group 3 abreast or taking up so much of the road they should PAY SOME BLOODY ROAD TAX FOR THE AMOUNT THEY ARE USING.... OR AT LEAST ALLOW THOSE WHO DO PAY AND ARE WORKING WITH SOMEWHERE TO GO TO PASS

I've nothing against cyclists - we do have to share, but big groups holding people up or riding too far across the road does wind up other road users and is not safe. Personally I think it is inconsiderate. When I go bike riding with a friend, majority of time single file and always aware that cars will want to overtake.

Cyclist will ride as near to the side of the road as is safe.

Seen a couple of times at best. Often not the case.

A good cyclist obeys all the road signs.

No, they are on a bike, so they ignore as can get away with. Traffic lights, you name it.

So in summary seems the cyclists can do as they please and don't seem to keep their end up, rarely get caught - the onus as always is on the tax paying road users.


We should all work together, though some parties need to be a little less selfish. There are bike lanes and give cars space - wobbling around chatting while on a bike is not better than mucking around on a mobile in a car - distracted...

Probably, except horses don't need to ride side by side for a chat (unless a dual horse driven carriage).

Who pays road tax? Suma is for your vehicle and road tax was abolished in the 1930s to stop vehicle drivers thinking they owned the road in the UK. Oh dear I wish people would stop feeling they owned the road because they pay a tax on their vehicle.

Over the past few years I have observed motorists on the Spanish roads and I am ashamed and sorry to say that British registered vehicles are the worst of all drivers. So please lets ALL be safe on the lovely Spanish roads and work together.

What brought that on! In my experience most of the Spanish driver are complete nutters with indicators that never work except for the ITV and no regard for anyone other than themselves especialy when running into other cars when parking!

You sound like a level headed Cyclist with a chip on both shoulders! LOL

Biggest rule for cyclists is that Lycra should be banned for the over 30's.

I used to suffer with the cyclists when I drove my little vauxhall aguila, but since I bought my new vehicle, cyclists seem to show me more respect.......I knew buying that snow plough was a good idea.
