Talk Quesada forum

I'm after some advice please. My husband and I are moving to Spain in August and looking to buy in Quesada.
My question is this, are there parts of Quesada used mostly for holiday lettings and parts for full time residents? We will be living there full time so maybe after somewhere a bit quieter.

From personal experience I advise you not to trust estate agents in regards to quiet areas. They seem to just want to get places rented. Can't help you suggest any particular area as most of them seem to be busy in summertime. Both with summer residents and holiday lets. Sorry.

I find its mostly the apartments with communal pools that are used as holiday lets. A Good proportion of larger private villas, are lived in all or most of the year.
Thats not to say that somepeople do let out there villas to noisy holiday makers in residential areas, but on the whole i find quesada quiet and select.
Its an all year round extreemly popular place. Its lovely to see the shops bars and restaurants, busy and vibrant 52 weeks a year. People appear to have the feel good factor, its a happy place.... ( in my opinion of course)

If you are going to be there full time perhaps you should consider buying somewhere near to a Spanish village such as Benijofar or Rojales. Some parts of Quesada can be very quiet and isolated in the winter months.

If you are near a village then there are always shops open, people about and things going on even in winter..

It's probably best to rent initially and see at first hand the areas and types of property.

We stayed with a friend in Dona Pepa and ruled out many areas for various reasons. Lo Crispin and Lo Pepin too isolated, the areas immediately surrounding the Golf course, too hilly. But, those our our opinions.

We settled for Dona Pepa. Yes, it has Conjuntas along with private villas but neither, in our experience, has proved to be a mini Butlins or party central.

The only thing I would say is that being on a Conjunta does allow you to meet people and integrate quickly whereas, living behind a two metre wall delays that process. And when you've developed friendships, joined clubs etc. you must might consider the villa

We moved to Lo Marabu at Christmas, location near to shops etc was the main reason we choose here, we lived for 12 yrs on an Urb where we had over a 5 min drive to get a pint of milk or go to a bar. Might not seem like a problem at first but it does get wearying after a while!

We have a two bed apartment at the top of Pueblo Bravo we would consider letting out for a month or so if you and your husband wanted to try this area before making a commitment.
As I agree it's always best to try areas before you buy.

Trying out a property before buying is a good idea in theory and a lot of people say this.

But you would have to do it for at least a year because some areas are completely different at different periods of the year..... in some places winter can be dead, but summer very lively and noisy for instance..

Hi , hope this helps , we have just purchased on Lo Crispin and decided to buy there as there are many people live there all year round , there are 2 pubs but no shop , you do need a car really but when it gets busy busy busy in the summer its really lovely to get some peace !!

Its a difficult one to answer, I'm not sure there are areas/accommodation predominately for let and others for full time residents. A lot depends on your budget and what type of house you want. The larger terraced townhouses on Lo Marabu/Dona Pepa are good value for money and offer decent sized accommodation. They are close to most facilities, bars etc and are good for making friends but for some the neighbours can be too close for comfort. If you have a bit more cash there are plenty of detached villas available but as usual beware of estate agent speak, have a good look round for yourself and don't be shy speak to prospective neighbours. Unlike some areas Quesada is an all year round town and there are plenty of good restaurants/bars. It is a lovely place to live and you would be really unlucky to end up with a bad area.
