I have noticed 3 of my local haunts have closed presumably so owners have a summer break......but surely this is peak season and a time to build revenue before the fallow months of winter..
La luna in particular in benijofar ...unless anyone knows another reason for the closure..

All is not lost, La Luna is closed for a 2 week break.
Well deserved break I think, the fact they are well supported al year round, speaks well of their success.

many Spanish restaurant's are open , as you say to take advantage of the summer tourist trade, over heard one Spanish restaurateur the other day saying he cant afford close ,but he serves good quality food at a reasonable price, very near to la luna,
la luna is,nt Spanish owned , theres even a few English owned ones closed perhaps they cant stand the heat in the kitchen,
nigieboy theres plenty good Spanish ones around, perhaps not as cheap as luna but certainly better,
but if you want to eat cheap that's your choice.

Pura Vida on the lemon tree road to Guardamar is excellent. I had the best meal I've ever had in the Quesada area over the last 15 years. 3 of us had the menu del dia, drinks and coffees for 50€

I have to agree with DTR, La Pura Vida is revelation, excellent food and friendly service.

Some argue that their menu del dia should come with a drink and a desert but as far as I'm concerned, it's the quality of food that sells this venue apart not the amount of freebes.

Take a look at my photo from a recent visit recommended-restaurants-cafes-bars-f25/la-pura-vida-t21174.html
