Talk Quesada forum

Was told today by another restaurant MJ's gone. Apparently the staff did not even get to know, until they turned up for work and the restaurant was closed. Shame thought it was doing well, another one bites the dust.

That's a real shame. We had arranged to meet friends there last night at 8.30 and was surprised to see the place in darkness. It has always been busy when we have been there.

Is chaplins still open.

Not the last few times we have been past would be interested to find out more?

It doesnt suprise me about MJs. We went to watch a singer in the summer and booked atable for a meal. When we arrived the singer had an empty room, never advertised the event , even within the bar, so not suprised, and when we asked for the menu we were told, sorry shes gone home , shes tired.. Not the best way to run a business.. The lad rang her and she did come back and do limited menue for us. Such a shame , the food was very good , but we never returned. Plenty more excellent places to eat in quesada.

I feel sorry for the staff that weren't given much notice. Not very nice just before Christmas.

With other bars that have closed, I used to think it was the greedy landlords fault for asking too much rent but now question if anyone does their homework with costings before they take a lease. Surely it can't be that difficult to work out how many pints have to be sold before the expenses are covered each week.

Not at all surprised. When we went in the service was zero so we just walked back out and went where we felt more welcomed.

Not Surprised! Tried it a few times in the summer and the owners were always sat in the corner drinking with their mates. not a good image for a bar!
