can anyone recommend a really good tyre dealer locally that has the equipment for large performance car tyres (295/35/ZR20) - I need a set of winter tyres fitting but struggling to find anyone locally that gets decent reviews and has the right equipment. Porsche Alicante have been useless so need a local solution.

Just outside Rojales, there is a German marque, specialist garage called Autos Gersan and last year they fitted 19” tyres to my car and my friends Porsche Cayenne. The tyres were purchased online and simply fitted by them but I cannot remember what they charged to fit and balance them. Anyway it worked out very much cheaper than buying and fitting them locally. They’re good guys and really took care of the car because they’re so used to fitting big wheels and tyres (the place is full of sports Audi and BMWs including lots of prestige 4x4). They may also offer a good price for sourcing tyres, I’m not sure, but we already had ours. If you need directions just pm me.

I wouldn't go anywhere near Auto's Gersan. They import many of their cars and my experience was they clocked the car I purchased by 100,000 km. Sprayed it up and dressed it to look like new. BMW Torrevieja told me otherwise and now only today I've just heard the gearbox in that car has blown up leaving the poor owner with a 5-6000€ bill.

update - couldnt get any response from Gersan and tried numerous other local tyre specialists. Ended up being recommended to and using Quick Fit in Quesada (by the arches) and I have to say they did a first rate job, when promised and at sensible prices. The tyres I needed were hard to come by (Porsche Alicante couldn't get them but QF Quesada tracked them down within a few days) So if you are after tyres and friendly reliable service then I certainly recommend them.

I have used 123 Pneu several times, which I believe is the French offshoot of Delti and they are efficient and reasonable especially for 4x4s.
