Is it going to be an Aldi? That would be great if it is, as I personally really miss the Lidls that was there as it was so o easy for me to walk to. I do walk to the new one but it's not so easy when buying heavier items.

Interesting that Lidl in Spain is very similar to the UK, both in terms of products and branding - albeit with regional differences. Both Aldi and Lidl in the UK seem to have the same business model.

However, the Aldi in Rojales is very different to those in UK - in fact it's hard to imagine that they are part of the same Company.

Just in case we need another large supermarket, be interesting to see if there's any truth in the rumour that the flattened area by the white boxes on Lemon Tree Road is going to be a new Consum.

New supermarkets are all good for the area IMO. A good local supermarket (or two for choice even better lol) within reasonable walking distance will always help sell houses.

The old Lidls that was there was always busy and it probably only moved to get a bigger site and bigger store, so hopefully this Aldi will do well. The position is good too, just off the main road roundabout so those coming from nearby areas in cars should find it easy getting in and out There was nothing wrong with the old Lidls position and access, just a shame the site they used was too small for them.
The new Lidls vehicle access up near the new Mas Y Mas is not quite so good, neither is the Mas Y Mas access (Summer congestion madness me thinks!) lol

Aldi in Europe is divided into 2 divisions after the brothers that founded the company fell out over the sale of tobacco, and the company was divided into north and south , that's why there is the differences between the Uk and Spanish stores ..!!

I agree that the style and stock levels and the footfall here are far less that the Uk,s pile it high policy ...!!!

Access to Lidle is better if you approach it from the front up the short slip roads ..you do have a choice of THREE methods of entry to the store , tho why they did not reduce the height of the water columns on the crossroads is a bit of a mystery , because you still have the non stop clowns going across the intersection without looking or slackening pace on a blind crossing ...!!!
