Yes it is but let’s be honest I bet we’ve all nipped out and left it unlocked when we don’t think we’re going to be long ,, the only way to look at that is lesson learned luvy ,, do they not have grills on windows.. if not I would definitely get window locks put on ,, if they have internet installed ide also get a camera that sits on your side , one off fee and you can view while out ,, it would give them some peace of mind while out hopefully, and a sneaky one put up outside see if anyone is hanging around,, if they are on a urbanisation they should have a word with the president see if he / she can help

You don't go out and leave anything unlocked. You put blinds down and locked so they find it hard to get in the windows. Grills can be ripped off. It becomes a way of life. Different areas are watched and they find the easiest target there. You don't like to frighten folks but there are so many ways you can get targeted whether at home, shopping or in Bars or Restaurants. Just be careful and watchful.

Good post Derek and welcome to the forum.
These thieves are like rats in the night, you drop your guard at your peril.
These are opportunists, it´s up to us to limit their opportunities.

Hi Sorry to hear of your friend's bad luck. From what I read, they have been targeted so need to be vigilant in the future. They seem seem to have done all you can to prevent them getting in as we did when we lived in Villa Martin but, we still got broken into 3 times in 7 years.
On the last occasion , the Guardia Civil officers who attended actually asked if I was good at my job to which I replied yes. he went on to say that the thieves do this job and they too are good at what they do. food for thought.
Having said the above, we now live in Lo Crispin and, my wife clocked someone in our back garden who promptly jumped over 2 metres of wall when he was spotted. At the end of the day, it may be unnerving but it happens all over the world and you will never stop it. Tell your friends to stick it out.
