They're around again!! Fake Gas Inspectors in official-looking shirts and clipboards trying to tell you it is "Obligado" to inspect your gas connections. If you let them, you are likely to be told that your connection is unsafe/incorrect/past its sell-by date, etc. and be charged a hefty amount for the privilege of changing to a newer version. Beware! It's a scam. (google fake gas inspectors spain to confirm)

Yes we had one this lunchtime in Pueblo Bravo.....I realised who it was based on past history...Gate was locked but he kept shouting to come to door. Then the cheeky b*stard went through next doors unlocked gate and climbed over the wall to our property to shout through our locked grill.!!!!
I picked up my phone and pretended to call the police....told him to do one and he scurried off !
Beware as its a massive scam guys!!

I had a man today come to my gate . I just said no gas no gas and he left.
If you do not have gas they cannot insist on inspecting the pipes and appliances..

We were caught years ago and I still feel like an idiot. They were so plausible too. My husband went and asked our spanish president for advice but as he was new,he knew nothing about this scam so we went ahead and allowed them to remove perfectly good attachments from our gas fire and cooker...can’t remember what they charged but think over a €100 . Do not allow these cheeky people anywhere near your property.

We have just had one ring our bell and wanted to check gas connection. He was very quickly sent packing.
We are in Quesada near the two clubs.

They certainly get around .
I had one at the gate on Tuesday ( La Siesta ).
I have Gas , but told him i was all electric. He then left.
It seems the easiest way to get rid of them.

Oh no! We had them on Friday. I thought they were real. We are new here. They changed a gas regulator and charged us €126 but we got a 5 year guarantee so we figured they were cosher. They even had a machine to swipe our visa card! Were we done?
