We woke up this morning to find that our water was off. The rest of our cul de sac is as well. We are at the top of Benimar II. Is anyone else on here either affected or know the reason for this?

Water conservation method, water turn off in certain areas for certain times of day in an effort to save water,

We are on Atalaya 15 and water is still off at 3pm. When does it come back on if indeed we are in conservation mode??!!

They were working on it yesterday but last night and today still no better, sent another email to them last night, in spanish explaining no water lets see what happens today, we are on Atalaya 13, not good when you are trying to sell your house

Glassman - if it’s an organised conservation arrangement, is there a site you can check to see when it’s your area’s turn ?

I have lived in Quesada for 11 years and have never experienced the water be turned off for conservation.
The only time our water has been off is when they were working on it .
Unfortunately we are never informed the water will go off . We just have to wait until it comes back on.

In future for the chance this may happen, always keep some very large water bottles filled up with tap water (I keep mine tucked away in the shade of the garden.)
You may never use them but if you do have a water cut off they are very handy to flush toilets - Which is no doubt the main problem when there's no water.
A few bottles of drinking water in the cupboard is handy too.
Sounds obvious but not everyone prepares for this.

Just a thought.

We have a couple of those aluminium folding clothes dryers that you get from the Chinese shops, that we use on our roof terrace. We save-up the large (5 litre?) containers that detergent and fabric softener comes in, we fill them up with tap water and use them to weigh down the base of the clothes dryers so they don’t blow over when it gets windy.
If the mains water water goes off then these containers of water are very handy for flushing the toilet with. You actually get better results if you remove the cistern lid and fill it up with water, rather than simply pouring the water into the toilet bowl.

I too have lived on Quesada for many years and have never known any organised water conservation turn offs.
When the water is turned off, which often relates to how much building work is going on, it's usually off for a couple of hours. It really isn't a big problem, though when I first moved here from La Veleta, it was a problem hence I have 2000 litres in storage tanks below my house, when the water is off I turn a couple of taps and the water is pumped up as needed.
