Any idea how much tickets are to go Alucante - Barcelona by train 1st class return please. I've been told by people it's cheap but when we looked thought it expensive.

If you get a Gold Card I have seen prices as low as 20 euros return best thing is to join the RENfe site and get emails from them I had one last week 29 Euros to Paris From Barcelona

You can also check on loco2.com - easier to navigate than the renfe site (in my opinion). If you can book early prices are cheaper - although sometimes if you’re looking nearer the travel time the 1st class option is cheapest. You can set alerts on loco2 aswell.

Thank you, I see what you mean about the Renfe site!

My wife and I went from Alc to Barcelona 4 years ago and booked at the Rosa Tours office as we had never done this before. My guess is that we probably paid 20 euros for their service.
Without that, I think we paid a total of 80 euros standard class to Barcelona and 120 Euros First class return. So about 200 euros. So we paid a lot.
What we did find was Standard Class was excellent and very comfortable. If we went again, we would go Standard Class.

Thank you for your reply, a friend who put the thought into my head said they booked through a travel agent and we would probably do the same, it's soooo much easier. I've tried the Renfe site and the other one mentioned and still got confused
