Hi

I dont know if anybody has ever heard of how you go about changing the name of your house. We are not on urbanisation, we are just 5 minutes outside quesada, and somehow come under almoradi, which is a little strange but the deeds say we do.
Our House has about three numbers and it is very confusing so want to give it a name but has anyone heard how you take the steps to do so.
Thanks in advance

Have you gone to the suma office and asked them? Your catastral number is the legal one to calculate tax etc. You might be able to get an answer from the town hall also. Just an idea.

Is one the old Plot Number that was allocated to it when they started building in the area, like P1234 ?
I think you could probably ignore or physically remove that one one now....unfortunately, we have our Plot Number and Road Number embedded in the cotogram on tiles, so tricky to remove it cleanly. Our villa is about 20 years old.

Easy just put the name on the outside it need not be registered but you have to leave the plot and buzon No's.

Your official postal address is the one on your escritura (deeds) which is the one you should use for all correspondence.
I would not bother with a name because the town hall and the tax people will use the address on the catastral.

We have 2 numbers, our postal address street number and our community apartment (or door) number. The problem we had was that the apartment number is cemented in tiles outside the front door but delivery men couldnt find it as they were looking for the street number. To make matters worse our official street name is the one that runs through our community but not the street we are actually in, we have a road name side opposite our house but it isnt our street.

We ordered an aluminium and perspex street number and name sign from ebay which we have fitted to the front gate pillar. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

We just gave our house a name and our family and friends use it in our mail. But official mail ie. Bank etc. It's not on there, or on the escritura

when I bought my house 11 years ago the property was one number and shortly afterwards the town hall changed the number .
What I would be interested in . which address got the bills , I have never checked this out , been using internet to check the bills
fortunately the address was changed with the utility providers after a lot of hassle .I have kept both numbers on the gate . a bit confusing when I have visitors.

Hi the best way to solve this is go to the Town Hall as they know your address.
