Are there any official rules and regulations for a mobility scooter when using it out on the roads? Does anybody know approx how much it would cost to insure it, just in case it gets bumped into somebody or something? I will check with an insurance company next week.

You should be able to have it covered on your household insurance
If it is a 6km per hour scooter it should only be used on pavements but no one does

I dont see how you can use a mobility scooter or a wheelchair on the pavements around here, what with few drop kerbs for access, If there is, there is probably a car parked on it, and lamposts etc in the pathways, I know I have had to use a wheelchair a few years ago, and there is no way you can go out on your own!

I know, it's amazing how the Council put a roadsign in the middle of a pavement, it is impossible to use the pavements. When a car is parked across the ramps which often they are I always feel like kicking it!!

If I had to use a wheelchair and I find a car that doesn't let me use a ramp I would call the Policia Local and don't feel you are wasting their time. They are contract to serve and protect.

That way will teach the driver that they are doing something wrong.

People don't take care about someone else usually, like parking in second line to go to a shop. They could park 10 meters farther where is not leg at either but without bother everyone that is on the road.
