Can't seem to start a new topic on Supermarkets or Butchers so have to put it on here.

Talking to a chap at Gama in Dona Pepa and the Gama in town is going to have a British butchers in store.
Things like UK cuts of beef and lamb plus pies and sausages. Also calling it Smart and the one in Dona Pepa is called Super (although still says Jumerca Gama). He said the British staff would be working at the one in town.
He had some joints of roast beef in (although we picked the big rib beef which is great) at the Dona Pepa one.
Don't know when it's starting or, indeed, if it already has but it's another choice.

what happens to the Spanish guy and lady that work behind the meat counter already?any one knows?

The Gama in town is in between the Rose and Stein and Banana Tree restaurants , think the road is Costa Azul but I stand to be corrected .

Yes, take the turn between the farmacia and the Banana Tree in the centre. It's just up there and someone mentioned the waste ground a bit further up has been turned into a car park for Gama but I haven't driven that way for a while.#

Re the staff. I imagine they'll stay put and the English butchery bit will be separate. Gama does all the marvellous cheeses, cold meats, pates etc as well as the chicken and other cuts but I don't really know. Not something you actually talk about when you're in the shop.
