This might sound like an odd question but want to buy duvets in the UK for Spain. What tog rating would you recommend for the winter?

What heating do you have in your house, and in your bedroom?

We took 10.5 tog duvets out with us last winter and they were fine even though the bedroom is unheated. We'll see how they fare this year although I am planning on getting a low-wattage panel heater for the bedroom to keep the chill off on the coldest nights.

In our, unheated, bedroom, we survive with a 2.5 Tog, Duck Down and Feather quilt from John Lewis

We have only just got the house. We have ac/heating in bedroom and lounge. Have been looking at 3.7 tog and wondering if they will be warm enough. Will be out for New Year and will have to assess the heating situation then. If anyone has any supplementary heating recommendations that would be much appreciated.

We have aircon heating in the bedrooms and lounge but don't leave them on all night. This is what I am planning on getting for our bedroom, as I said above just to take the chill off http://www.leroymerlin.es/fp/17002951/e ... =0&largo=0.

The rest of the time we will use the aircon heaters.

Those panels are not very good but if you do use them then make sure you stick some reflective foil on the wall behind them

Hi oneillsweet, have you been to yorkshire linen in Quesada?Torrevieja? They sell quilts of different togs, would save you the hassle of having to lug quilts all the way from the UK, also, regarding the low wattage panel heaters, (econo heater) I installed 5 in my Julia in La Marina, and if you have an air con unit, use that for about 15 minutes to take the chill off your property and these little heaters will keep the rooms warm for the rest of the night. I normally only leave mine on for a couple of hours, then switch them off as I then find it warm enough. Alternatavely, put them on a plug in timer, and you can set the times for them to go on and off through the evening.

I had a down filled one and my husband thought it was too heavy plus the feathers/down move about and it doesn't always look nice and plump. I then bought a really cheap one polyester type thing and it is so warm. Another thing to think about is with the polyester types you can wash them easily. You can buy normal single and double in Primark, the double about 12/14 euros I think.
