The whole of the Costa Blanca has been put on Orange alert by Aemet, that is one off Red be aware get your wellies out! well maybe 40-70% chance.

It's been nice here today with hardly a breath of wind and the temperatures quite warm for the time of year. Just some clouds a bit earlier but just wispy ones now.
However, looking at El Mundo, Valencia has been virtually cut off. Main roads from the south are cut off in both directions and most local roads are impassable. Planes have been diverted to Alicante/Elche as they are unable to land at Valencia airport.
Ford has closed down its night shift due to the workers being unable to travel and many schools shut down early today and will not open tomorrow.
This all started about 2:30 pm today and could be on its way.

Gota Fria?? Not had a drop of rain so far or even a breeze....who makes these weather forecasts up????

Just came out from my underground bunker after being there all day due to the forecasts of doom for the whole of Costa Blanca. . . Just goes to show that its not yet a science but a guesstimate . . . Spoilt my last day this year in Spain . . Going back to where I know the weather is rubbish unless surprised by a random sight of the sun . . .

Today is the 19th and we had a little skiff a short while ago, nothing yesterday and I too brought all the cushions etc.,indoors. Do you think we will be okay and assume that the storm has passed? I am in Torrevieja. The sky is still a pale gray but I am hopeful that the sun will appear soon. Fingers crossed!
