Light Aircraft over Rojales/Quesada

For what seems like at least the last week, there has been a light aircraft flying what seems like a survey pattern several times a day over Rojales & Quesada.

Does anyone know what he is doing? - if it is a survey or mapping then why does he have to repeat it every day?

There's a topic here about that. See link:

If they are surveying, then Quesada is the most surveyed place on the planet. They are usually in pairs and fly back and forth most days throughout the year at low levels. Sometimes they will climb and then drop quickly and then you can hear the engine rev up to climb again. They come from miles just to fly over the Quesada area. As I’ve said before it’s an accident waiting to happen. Just takes 1 mistake and it could crash onto a populated area. Miles of ocean to fly over. Fly over the sea and stop annoying people.

They have been doing that for years. A lot of people like watching them. Like anything else you get used to it.

It is the flight training area for San Javier Spanish Air Force recruits.

The aircraft flying square patterns are probably looking for property alterations and taking photos for comparison. I had a fine some years ago for building a small terrace and swimming pool, even though I had a licence etc., I had not informed the land registery. Hence fine and 4 years back pay.

We thought by the way they were flying that it was a training flight.

I don't find these planes very noisy but the trouble with living with lots of old people (and I am one of them myself) they don't half moan a lot
