My Driving Licence is due for renewal shortly. I am over 80 Years of age so I have to take a simulated test. However my problem is I have been diagnosed with a Viral Infection which means at the moment it is too painful for me to drive.

My question is this. Is there a period of grace for renewing my licence. For example 30 days or 60 days. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

The term of renewal of the driving license is 90 days before its expiration. Once expired, there is no grace period as such and implies that the car could not be driven. However, it would be sufficient to go to the medical test center to do the test and in there they usually deal with the renewal without having to go to traffic office.
