Does anyone know of a newly passed law regarding Suma. I bought a quad in La Marina in 2007 and sold in 2017. I have paid all bills by direct debit since 2007. I now have a demand for suma dated 2007/2008 1526.27 euro however some of it has been paid I don't how or when so there is still 442.62 left to pay with the words CUOTA LIQUIDA at the side of it. Then the words DUEDA TRIBUTARIA.

I am house bound at the moment awaiting an operation and cannot go to the Suma office myself and just wondered if anyone else has been billed for ten year old Suma I am resident not non resident.

I think you should get a friend to take it to a lawyer, to get it sorted out!

Thank you for your reply, I have done that but not convinced about ''new Suma rule'' so just wondered if anyone else has had this problem or if its just applicable to La Marina so was looking for a second opinion on the matter.

My parents had a bill to pay as apparently they hadn't paid for the swimming pool and a conservatory for 20 years, they were only charged for 4 or 6 years though plus every year from now on the Suma is slightly higher, have you had any extensions, carport, sheds built?

Thank you for your reply. No the property is just as I bought it in 2007. I suppose I shall have to pay and bear it though there is that under lying feeling that I am being caught, how does one prove you haven't changed things? I don't know I think it's just another of those Spanish things we have to accept to live in this lovely country!!!!

Are you sure the bill is for the IBI tax as CUOTA LIQUIDA is a term normally used when calculating Personal Income Tax as does Dueda Tributaria

Thank you for your reply. The final total item says
DEUDA TRIBUTARIA 442.62. I am a tax payer in Spain only. Further up the bill are the words CUOTA LIQUIDA 442.62.

If your house had extra things built onto it or pool before you bought it, you still have to pay on it.
