Gas cookers

I have recently purchased a new range, gas cooker, previously I have had gas cookers with separate or eye level grills but on the new one it is integral to the oven. Insid the oven are two movable shelves, ones wire shelf and the other a solid shelf. I assume the latter is placed to keep the heat at the top when the grill is lit, do I keep it in place to keep oven temperature or do I remove? I hope you can understand my query. TIA

Yes got a User Manual, written in every language imagin@ble , including English, butsays absolutely nothing. The Manual hardly mention oven and grill, other than to say it has them. Watch this site Jpeg, someone might enlighten us!

It won't affect the grill or the oven wether it is in or out when you use either. Ex British gas engineer not Lynn of course.

It does affect the oven as if you leave the solid shelf out when using oven the food gets burnt on the bottom of the dish

thus prompted my question as I have had a few burnt offerings and couldn’t understand.
