Hi all.

Our existing car port (toldo) is in dire need of repair. I'm thinking of replacing it with a timber one with the tile/slate effect ashfelt roof.

My question is, do i need permission from the town hall. for this?.

Thanks

Yes timber constructions, ie car port or pergola's are classed as permanent structures and require licences. The metal type are classed as temporary structures and do not normally require licences.
