The one at Campomar at the roundabout is good as well - no hearing test, no eye test, just the reaction test and some questions on what pill you took, also 20 Euro, and no apopointment needed 10 AM 1 PM mon-thurs. The one to avoid is the Private Clinic on La Siesta, the doctor there is about to retire and as well as giving you the full works (hearing test, reaction test, eye test, coluor vision test, 3rd degree on pills and operations ) will fail you if you have any sort fo heart problem even if it was minor and 20 years ago - because, as he explained to my friend "I want a quite retirement, so I need a certificate from a cardiologist before ill pass you" which is utter nonsense. It would cost about 400 euros AND they will take 40 euros off you for test.

Similar to Cabo roig ,reaction test which beeped a lot ,no eye test, ask you about any medication you are taking and no appointment.

If you play video games the reaction test is a doddle. You start with a score of 0, each time a dot strays out the line you get points, the idea is to score as low as possible. At 10,000 you fail. Most people score around 4000 - 6000. i scored 624, which is near as dammit a perfect score, but then i worked in IT all my life and ive played computer games since 1978, it was a busmans holiday.....

It isnt really a reaction test, its more coordination test, because you have to watch both side sof the screen and coordinate both hands simulataneous. Its no worse than flying an X fighter with the right hand joystick and zapping incoming aliens with the left hand .

Are those prices for an initial medical (changing licence or taking lessons) or for a driving licence renewal when your Spanish one runs out?
And, if for a renewal, do they do the renewal for you included in that price?

The 20 euros are for the medical and nothing else,we think when we go to Elche to change over to a Spanish licence there will be a charge for that but I don’t know how much.

Over the last 15 years here in Spain I have completed 2 driving tests.
The first in Alicante when I changed my UK license to Spanish and the other time was when my license expired at 75.
The second test charged me 20€ (for renewal) and due to me taking blood pressure tablets I only got 4 years instead of 5 years extension.
Now, I no longer take blood pressure tablets but my expiry date won't change.
