Advice please

Hi, I know this may seem a stupid question to some and if you feel it is don't reply. I want advice not ridicule.
Ok, the lentils that you see in jars in the supermarkets, are they already cooked and ready to go or do I have to rinse and soak them overnight.

Ready cooked and i do rinse them a bit ..

the ones in jars are ready cooked and fairly tightly packed in the jar, I rinse them before cooking to make them less salty,
the ones in packets need a rinse ,then cooking, but cook good in the slow cooker on high,

Hi...Yes ready cooked as are the chickpeas in the jars...lovely to make Lentil Dahl and chickpea curry.

There's no stupid question if you don't know the answer. I also like the garbanzos (chickpeas) straight out of the jar. Like lentils I would never eat them as a kid but yesss
