The "aparcacoches" or "gorrillos" are now causing a menance on Calle Ramon y Cajal and Calle Zoe. There are about 12 of them demanding money to mind your car and if you don't pay they are causing damage to cars and breaking into them. Businesses and residents are complaining that they are drinking and using drugs and urinating and blocking up the pavements. This is the first time these particular type of beggars have appeared in Torrevieja. These 2 streets are used by people for parking while going to the beach.

It might be worth paying to park whilst this mess is cleared up I don’t think it’s worth all the hassle it’s easy money for this scum. Motto don’t let them win

they just move on elsewere and hassle more tourists and locals , mostly gypsie gangs,out for easy money,

Parking is very rarely expensive not like the UK so pay if you can. Years ago they were hassling people in Cartegena before they built the underground car parks and there was just open ground. Scary because you don't know what they will do.

The car park by the marina in Torrevieja is quite cheap to park so really not worth parking for free and encountering these crooks.
