Hi,

I need to get a Spanish mobile / number.

I’m looking for advice as to who the best ‘pay as you go’ mobile phone operator is (value or other reasons).

I understand that you need to make at least 1 call every six months.

Thanks.

We have used Lobster since March and have found them to be excellent.

We use "Hits" for "pay as you go". There's a guy at Zocos' market that will set it up for you, (near book exchange, top right of the market). You can pay a small amount and you don't have to make any calls to keep your number.

Lobster looks OK if you're going to make a lot of calls but it's €12 upwards per month.

There are 4 basic networks in Spain, Moviestar, Vodafone, Orange, and Yoigo, all others work on the back of one of those.

The very first thing you need to know then is which operator provides usable coverage in your precise area, the cheapest and/or most highly recommended deal is useless if it doesn't work where you live!

Unfortunately sometimes the only way to discover that is to buy a cheap prepaid SIM from each and try them out.

Hello

We have used Digi Mobil for many years. They are excellent, I pay €5 per month and any data I have left over they roll over to the next month. You also do not have to top up every month.

I’ve found with Digi Mobile that I can’t get any coverage in the UK, limited phone coverage and no data, even though I’ve contacted them and set up my phone as they have instructed. Very good in Spain though. Can anyone advise of a mobile operator at a reasonable price who have equally good coverage in the UK?
