The Sunday Times today published the leaked Yellowhammer report, which is the Cabinet Office assessment of likely issues arising from a No Deal Exit from the EU. This is a link to it for those who want to read it.

You might have to copy and paste it to your browser to access it. It's not terribly long, is more a headline summary of the likely position in key sectors, together with listing the key assumptions they are making about what might affect the situation.

I am not making any comment on it and those who say they are bored with, or don't care about, the whole Brexit issue, don't have to read it. The Sunday Times itself does a lot of analysis, as I dare say will other media outlets since the report is now in the public domain.

The point is that this is the UK Government's current view of what is likely to happen to the UK and UK citizens in the event of a no-deal exit on 31 October.

Well it a Whitehall mandarin's view, bearing in mind they are being purposely pessimistic.

For example,we already know the Calias Authorities have put in place and rehearsed measures to ensure a smooth transition in the event of no deal, and have reported they see no problems, so that part of the report is erroneous.



There is also nonsense spouted about medications - the 17 largest Pharma companies (and thats 80% of the entire industry) all manufacture in the far east,have head offices in UK or USA (and 2 are in Germany), and all ship directly from manufacturing plant to UK based warehouses. So the supply of drugs is nothing to do with brexit, but having said that, there is in general this day a world shortages of certian drugs due to lack of manufacturing capacity. So thats a second point.


My personal view is believe nothing in the media, especially 'leaked' information, until you've checked it with reliable sources. Theres a fake new propaganda war going on on both sides and you cant believe anyone on face value

A lot of ifs ,buts, could be, maybe , possibly and whole lot guesswork and dreaming ...point is nobody knows , but lots are guessing with there own agenda and slant , the media is the biggest culprits , they are trying to sell add space and will make any shxt up to try and widen there distribution and /or network … Patience ..!!

a few years before I left Heathrow a friend in IT told me of a project to outsource my department. I can't recall the name they used now and I accept it ain't going to be
"Project Outsource" but the title they used was really stupid

A report commissioned by the government, for the government. Unfortunately, it was commissioned by Theresa May's government and not Boris Johnson's government so there wasn't enough pressure applied, to those who were commissioned, to make it a bit more positive, so it's "project fear" now.

Interestingly, Michael Gove tore it apart, his comments are very interesting:

"This Operation Yellowhammer leak is the version of what the contingency executive put together. We remember attending a briefing on privy council terms which they said was not worst case but reasonable worst case. Theresa May had asked for this to be done. It was obviously Project Fear dressed up.

"For example, on the delays at the port we asked if they had discussed their expectation with the port authorities of Calais/Pas du Nord who had already said that there would be no extra delays at Calais and they said, (after a great deal of shuffling of feet) 'no'.

"We asked why not and they said they had not been asked to do so. There were other areas where it was clear they had not been asked to get balance but instead dress up previous versions of other worst-case scenarios.

"The whole thing was an attempt to frighten us and didn't stand up to scrutiny. We have never seen officials look so uneasy under questioning.

"The fact that this document was 'found' in a Westminster pub tells you all you need to know about this continuing establishment plot to sow fear in people's minds. This is an abuse of the proper use of the Civil Service and must be stopped."

These comments are in most of the redtop media.
