House check for those not in Spain

With the unprecedented weather of the last few days, I suspect I am not alone in worrying about what damage might have occurred to my property (being out of the country of course). I have succumbed to the concerns and have now booked a last minute flight to return to check things over.

Given the concerns I am sure many also have, if anyone here wants me to pop over any properties in Quesada/Dona Pepa area early next week to check on the outside I am happy to do so and email any photos etc to show all is well and allay any fears. Just PM me your address and email address and I will get it done at some point (it might be later in the week if I am all hands on deck dealing with sodden ceilings and mattresses etc when I arrive!).

Sounds very kind...but

Probably people should message you their house address..

Don´t post the address for all to see that is empty..

;)

Great offer. We have literally just bought a place and of course we are concerned. Our key holder will go round when she can get there!

For now, if anyone is in Monteazul, if they could give some sort of idea of how bad it is, that would be great.
Luckily (I hope) we are quite high in the Urb and it will miss everyone and just run down to the bottom

Good luck everyone

Paul

The police are telling people in Rojales to move their cars onto higher ground, the river has just 20cm to go before bursting its banks...

Yes, hence saying they should PM me rather than post their address on here. I appreciate they are relying on my trustworthiness but there are hopefully enough posts from me on here (and several have met me through buying/selling) who know my face...

Sadly I think its inevitable the banks will burst give the delay in rainwater reaching the river after a period of rain like that.

Thanks Annette. So do I, been a roller coaster of a year with the unprecedented rains of Easter and then the record rain fall night in August and now this!!

"Thankfully" (and I use the term loosely!) I was there for Easter and August so, although miserable weather, could at least be reassured the house was ok, despite having on/off electricity and wading through rainwater in my kitchen!! It's going to be a nervous drive from the airport Monday! I might end up consoling myself with a glass of wine and a room for the night in La Laguna if I find the bedrooms resemble indoor pools!
