Can you hire a car in the UK if you have an EU drivers licence?

Due to Brexit we had ours changed to EU licences and as we are thinking of returning for a week in December we are unsure as to whether you can or can't drive over there.

We have been on some Google websites but can't get a definitive answer.

Any help greatly appreciate tia

Yes, i've done it several times.
I have read that some companies require proof of address like a utility bill or something but I've never been asked for one.

I too have never had a problem with renting a car in the UK using a Spanish driving licence. After all, Spaniards must do it all the time.

The rental companies usually specify if they need proof of address like a utility bill or bank statement in their initial rental agreement. Best to take two, just in case, these should be less than 3 months old

Virtually all car hire T&C's will tell you that you will need to provide proof of address (PoA) but at the desk on the day whether it's actually asked for or not seems to be completely random.

I was in UK not long ago picking up a car from Goldcar in Stansted, I had my PoA (two items in fact) but the operator was not in the least bit interested in looking at whilst at the exact same moment beside me was what I think what was a Polish guy was being refused as he had no PoA, go figure !

Sensible advice has to be to take PoA.

Just returned from East Midlands Airport. Used Economy Car Rental/Firefly. No problems using my EU driving licence. Was advised to take utility bills no more than 3 months old but wasnt even asked for them. Simples!!!!
