I live in Dona Pepa and my next door neighbour has natural gas installed.

I have just had a gas boiler installed which is currently rune fine on bottled gas, and want to switch to natural gas.

I have been quoted 740 euros for the install, and a further 185 euros when they connect me to the main.

What type of prices have other users paod?

Does anybody know who to contact for an alternative quote? A couple of years ago the gas company were doing no cost installations.

Help/feedback much appreciated.

Boiler conversion to natural gas is very simple with modern boilers usually just the injectors to change

I think we paid about 300 Euros for gas installation. This was around 3 years ago when the Gas company was installing the gas in Dona Pepa 2. Residents had the choice to have it installed or not. We did because, although we did not want gas at the time, we felt it better to get it when it was available.
So to date, we have a meter in the outside cupboard but the pipes do not come into the main building. We have to take regular readings online and pay around 6 euros standing charge every two months.
Maybe we will install a gas water heater when our electric one breaks down? But the main reason for having gas installed was because the option might make the house easier to sell later on.
Obviously, having a one off installation will be more expensive and I think 800 euros is probably about right.
