Hi..the animal shelter in torrivieja is having an open day on the 24th we will be letting people see and get to meet some of the volenterres that work there and all the animals needing homes...

I hope it is a well-attended successful day. Will the Councillor responsible from the Town Hall be there? I see in today's Informacion that the contract for the veterinary services still hasn't been signed by the Town Hall. The volunteers at the shelter are having to pay from their own pockets for michrochipping, rabies and castration of the animals at the shelter along with any other emergency call-outs of the vet. The biggest fall-out of not having the veterinary contract in place is that the animals can't be adopted until they have all the necessary procedures required by law. It would be a shame if all the good work put in place since 2016 by Councillor Carmen Morate of the Greens was to fall by the wayside.
