Women play snooker????

Why dont women play snooker? They seem to play many other games that only men used to play, but they never get involved with snooker do they? Are there rules against it, or what is the reason for that?

They do play snooker one was playing in the last tournament in England, i play against a lady pool player who is very good.

Reanne Evans is an English professional snooker player and the current ladies world champion. Played very well last week and was narrowly beaten by Sean Murphy in a ranking event, only losing in a decider 4-3. I believe it was the champion of champions event in Coventry.
