parking rules/law

Hi I have recently purchased a property in the Benijofar area and visited to sort keys and things out. whilst there my neigbhour introduced herself and began by assuring me she was there to help, not to interfere.

during a 10 minute conversation she came accross as quite knowledgeable and informed me that she would ask the president to pop by and introduce himself too.

during the day, i was out and about taking things to charity shops and removing rubbish etc, when she approached me and asked if i would drive to the top of the road to turn the car round so that it was facing down the road, like her car? looking down the street there were one or two cars parked the same way i was, but she told me that it was law in spain. Could someone tell me if this is correct please, i dont want to antagonise her, but i would like to know if this is the law?

further that day i was outside with someone who was giving me a quote for re-painting the property, when she appeared again, stating that I could only paint it the colour it is now, whilst i understand i may have ask the "president" about this I wondered if anyone had any conditions like these with their properties. I am due to go back to the house at Christmas, and absolutely dreading it.

Many thanks

Property colours ......yes, communities often insist on only painting the right colours. Our community president has all the paint codes so that it's easy to get the right colour/ shade from the paint supplier.

Car parking.....never heard of that one before.

Community rules......generally there will be lots of them and before doing anything to the exterior it's probably best to check with your community president about what agreements are in place.

Hi there, you have all my sympathy. First et to see your president and get a copy of the community statutes and rules. These are the ones you abide by not some neighbours made up rules. If your street is within the community and they do have a rule regarding parking then you must go along with it. Otherwise unless it is a one way street, you can park in which direction you want.
I know of one community where each month they change sides of road and this works a treat.
As for the colours of your house, normally Spanish Law says all houses t be the same colour and the president can provide you with paint numbers.
As for this KIND neighbour, tell her that you will be obviously abiding by the Community Rules and thank her kindly for her help...then give her a damn good ignoring. Like someone says they walk amongst us, we have a cracking pair living next door to us!!! Good luck and enjoy YOUR new home xx

Property colours are normally strictly controlled within a community. This can avoid neighbors painting their house in garish or inappropriate colours. This can of course be checked with the President.

With regard to parking, i am not sure about that one. However, I always tend to park in the direction that the traffic flows. This is because at night your rear cluster of lights reflect approaching vehicles headlights, which the front cluster tend not to. So a simple safety/security tip.

Sounds like she,d make a good guard dog!
if the parking at the side of the street differs from month to month there has to be a sign up stating so,which side from what dates to what dates,

Norman and his blonde wife live in whereever. One winter morning while listening to the radio, they hear the announcer say, "We are going to have 3 to 4 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." Norman's wife goes out and moves her car. A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 4 to 5 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." Norman's wife goes out and moves her car again. The next week they are having breakfast again, when the radio announcer says "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park.....", then the electricity goes out. Norman's wife says, "Honey, I don't know what to do." Norman says, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time?"
