Funnily enough the Parking bit is probably right . . . in the N332 police booklet regarding parking it states "When on urban roads it has to be done on the road or on the hard shoulder, the vehicle will be located as close as possible to its right side, except on one way roads, where parking can also be done on the left side (article 38.2 of the articulated text). Remember that if the street is two-way, you cannot stop or park on the left side, since you would be doing it in the opposite direction of the vehicles. " Hardly ever enforced I expect tho . . . .

I was told when i came here 12 years ago when parking you had to park the way that you drive, so here on the right hand side which when i look about outside pubs etc seems to be adhered to ,on major roads if u are parked facing the wrong way it is assumed you have crossed a solid white line to do so which is not always correct of course.

It is the law. Several years ago some uninformed owners in Doña Pepa found their cars had been towed away overnight from outside their properties. Stickers on the kerbs left by police indicated it was because they had parked on the wrong direction. I always pass that helpful knowledge on when necessary.

re parking severel years ago the policia had a purge, they booked every car in Quesada high street that was not parked facing the direction they drive, but also round Dona Pepa Urb, also, you can park in front of someone else's drive unless they hav a Vado permiente sign outside also. Our community askes you to paint your house the same colour as others, one person thought he would be different after several weeks he changed it back.

I would ask the president for a copy of the communal rules. We had a couple in our block that told everyone they weren’t allowed on the communal area that they had their table and chairs, and they kept it locked! The president gave us all a key to the area, suffice to say its back to communal now ...... some people have nothing better to do.

If you live in a community then there are rules which apply to everyone. Would you prefer if she hadn't told you about the paint colour and then you ended up having to paint everything again. As for the parking well that rule applies in the UK as well as Spain. She is only giving you the heads-up. There are generally rules for swimming pool usage, noise after 12.00pm and before 7.00am. Waste water disposal i.e not letting it flow out into communal areas, tv antennas and dishes, balcony/porch enclosures, washing lines, wall heights, wall types, party walls......so now you know.

Being on an urbanization and part of a community has lots of good points. True, you need to keep to the rules, which is not a big problem, but then on the other hand so do all your neighbours. This is useful if problems arise between members of the community. Doesn't happen often, but a good thing to know. Secondly, security is much better on a community as we all look out for each other and I'm sure that seems to help. Third, you get to bond with others and if you have problems, or if they have problems (even like needing and ambulance in the middle of th night) there's someone to help. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I guess some of us (me included) just don't like being told what to do. We comply, because we have to, not because we like to. Given a choice we'd probably like to do something different.

I aspire to what many others have already achieved, that is to grow old disgracefully......and I'm having a lot of fun getting there. Smily Emoji

Whilst on this subject of community” HITLERS”. I was watering a garden for friends, when the next door neighbour appeared from his front door. Good morning i said and was greeted with a grunt, thinking he might not have got his oats{porridge lol} that morning, went about my duties. The following morning i repeated “ good morning”,EXCUSE ME he gruntled, would you mind not letting the water come through my screen blocks as it is wetting my slabs [WHAT!!!}. Sorry i said i did not realise that was happening. Another grunt.
A few days later i was asked to paint their wall on the street side. Now as i had been doing the garden for a few weeks and never saw a vehicle yet, addmittidaly it was a single lane street i parked my car beside the wall so i could listen to HARMONY FM on radio. I was just started and who should come down in his car but the neighbour. I gave him a wave, appolijised and moved to let him past. I drove round the block and parked in same spot “EXCUSE ME” you cant park there if you are working, but i said i will move if someone else comes along. He became very abusive and told me to move it NOW!!. Refusing to do so repeating i shall move it if necessary. He is now standing nose to nose with me,threatening to tell the owners what a nuisance I had been i decided to move to keep the peace. We live here in a beautiful sunny place, can we not live in harmony. Live And Let Live!!!
