To be fair that car park is dirt cheap, more the hassle factor of driving around and around the place and crossing over to the airport rather than just pulling up, collecting/dropping off and then driving straight back out to the roundabout.
One thing I have suffered several times is faulty barrier machines. I had it once in the main car park where I had to reverse back up 3 times, re-park and have to take the lift to the top floor to go to the office to swap the ticket with the man on the counter, only to descend the stairs and suffer the same issue. On the third attempt he raised the barrier via the intercom.
Similarly, a few weeks back in the short stay car park, under ten mins and the machine spat my ticket out at such a pace it floated off behind the car! Luckily it wasn't windy as I had to reverse to open the drivers door and go running off chasing down my ticket! Second attempt I held my hand right in to front of the slot and the machine again spat the ticket out. Third attempt it worked fine.
