I arranged via a newspaper advert for a mobile mechanic to check my brakes due to a rear wheel beginning to squeal when slowing the vehicle.
The mechanic 'Kev' checked and replaced a brake disc, he then said he would check the other rear wheel and also replaced a disc on that wheel. He did all this in about 40 mins. The cost.... 30 euros.
He is based near Torrevieja and will cover up to 20km from base.
I was so grateful I said I would post his service record on this Forum. He said that if he received any business from this posting he would advertise on the forum. Tel 665 329 974. 7 days a week call out for ITV tests, electrics, brakes and Diagnostics

where did he get the discs from as he would not carry them as stock and they cost a lot more than you paid

Agreed, €30 would have barely covered travelling time & labour.

Also checking the other side was not a favour, brake discs and pads should always be replaced in axle sets so it would have been grossly unprofessional for him not to have done both sides or nothing.

What is his name?

I've used kev the mechanic too and €30 is his callout fee.

In Spain we said "Nadie vende duros a 4 pesetas", I would update and translate for "Noone sells Euros for 80 cents". To go and comeback took him half hour, make the work very quickly 1 hour. And the break disk arround 40€ minimum.

But maybe he makes magic.

After reading this ads I decided to give Kev a try. I was not disappointed. Kev arrived when he said he would. He was very professional and immediately found the problem with my car. I needed x2 new front break pads. Kev then left got the parts and came back the next day exactly when he said he would. I was given the actual sales receipt for pads and charged not a cent more. Labour I was charged 50€ which was extremely reasonable. I was so happy with the service Kev provided that I will definitely be using his services again and can highly recommend him to anyone.
