Are burglaries in ciudad quesada really a problem

I was told yesterday that burglaries in the last 9 months or so have been quote "a terrible problem !".
Searching online today most problems seem to have been early last year and not much activity recently. I would be interested in the facts on the situation currently as thinking of moving back soon. I know these issues can get wildly exaggerated sometimes. Many Thanks

I have lived in Quesada for 14 years and we have never been broken into. Neither have any of my friends or neighbours. Perhaps we have been lucky. We always make sure doors, windows etc are securely locked so as not to make it easy for any potential burglar.

Think you will find on the outlying urbanisations its a real and ongoing problem. I was burgled this month and several of my near neighbours have been done too.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry to hear that it must be worrying. Do you mind if I ask which areas urbanisation's the burglaries happened in.

I have lived in several different places in the area in the past years! Quesada is the only place I had burglars! Police need more presence in the area...not just one car that drives around.

Perhaps I'm being naive but how does a property get burgaled if :-
* All the doors and windows are shut and locked.
* All the security shutters are down.
* All the security grills are shut and locked.
How do the burglars obtain access without keys ?

They use a crowbar under the bottom edge of the grilles, once they have the bottom out they bend them upwards an prop the there while they slide up the shutters, ( even if you have locks on them they break very easily) crow bar the sliding windows and hey presto they are in .
probably takes no more than a couple of minutes.

Yes naive, Villa by me with all alarms, security grills, private electric gates etc and owners in bed wake up to find grills out and burglars in..they don't tend to need keys, the old saying ( if they want to get in they will) grills etc make it slightly harder..

I thought that as well as alarms there were various security devices available e.g. that make sliding windows/doors very difficult to prise open/lift up.

Hi yes the window locks , you have to do everything possible to put them unfortunately,, we have grills , shutters with bars in bottom, window locks and Prosigure Alarm, dusk until dawn lights on ,, They really need catching .
