Could our BCG vaccinations be our salvation?

Reading the Irish Times, a most interesting article has been written. It seems that countries where high levels of vaccinations were carried out since 1950 for Tuberculosis i.e. BCG seem to have lower incident of death from Covid19. This is not a proven theory as yet but it is a possibility.
As a child in Ireland, we were all given given the vaccine at school. The same was done in many other countries too. In Spain, they ceased giving it in 1981, Denmark in 1987. Ireland continued until May 2015. The US didn’t make the vaccine mandatory which could account for the huge number of deaths there now. People born before the mid ‘40s may not have received the vaccine hence the reason for the high death rates amongst the much older generation.
I haven’t been able to find any facts for the vaccine programme in Italy but Austria and Germany continued on until the 1990’s.
The U.K. have ceased giving it to school children in general but vaccines for both hepatitis and Tuberculosis is offered to children form ethnic minorities who are travelling abroad.

If these theories are true, many of us should/ could be safe from Covid 19. We are all advised to continue washing our hands and practising social distancing. Let us all hope and pray that this is indeed a fact. Then we can all rejoice.

If this were true it would be good news of course. The link to the article is here for anyone wants to read it. . But bear in mind it is another statistical correlation study, that's all. So I wouldn't get too many hopes up...

Yes it seems neither Italy nor USA have compulsory BCG vaccination.

Bee, I spent ages researching as much information as I could find to back up this theory and it is all very encouraging. In Australia they are doing a study for 4 months using placebos and BCG and they have great hopes fot it.
Thank goodness we were all inoculated all those years ago.
Hope you are all keeping well. We are both in excellent spirits.
