However, it is being reported that the reduction in fuel price at the pumps will take place on Friday 1st April. The minimum reduction will be 20 cents per litre and an extra 10 cents per litre for industrial users as announced by the Minster of Finance today. The Minister of Economic Affairs stated this reduction will be in place until the end of June.

Some areas still being affect by the independent trucker's strike and the port of Bilbao has been blockaded.

The cap on the price of industrial gas which will impact on the electricity prices may take longer as the final details on the "Iberian" agreement are still being hashed out. The maximum prices today of domestic electricity will be 28 cents per Kwh and the minimum 23 cents. An 8% increase on yesterday but well below the 50 cents per Kwh it was a couple of weeks ago. March has been the most expensive ever for electricity prices.

The way the weather has been going, a reduction in VAT on car shampoo would be welcome.

It talks about everything from generated power to action on refugees and many, many more things.

It does confirm that fuel prices at the pumps will be reduced by at least 20 cents a litre until the end of June and will also be applied to Adblue. The reduction in gas and electricity costs for suppliers which will be passed on to consumers and even subsidies for milk producers to keep the cost down to customers as well as subsidies for transport providers with the same aim.

Oh, and it's going to get cold in the next few days due to an Arctic wind coming down but should brighten up over the weekend.

The independent truck drivers who have now been on strike for 20 days have said they will call off the strike and go back to normal working as from Monday. The Platform for the Defense of the Transport Sector, as they call themselves, have said it is a "temporary" halt to the proceedings.

The president of the Valencia Region has said they will be holding a meeting on Monday to discuss ways of reducing prices. It was reported that he is proposing a 10% cut in many charges to the retail industry including business rates, rents and so on. Plus a bailout to the milk producers and agricultural workers on top of the one notified by the central government. These cuts would only be applied if they were passed on to the customer (hope it's not like the petrol where they put the prices up before the rebate was applied).

There will also be a meeting (yes, yet another one) to discuss the withdrawal of the facemasks. He said this will identify areas where facemasks can be stopped being mandatory and has come up with:
Supermarkets, bars, restaurants and other hostelry outlets to be removed as the social distancing can be kept.
They will probably not be removed for hospitals and health workers or others at risk.
They will probably not be removed from wearing them on public transport as the distance is hard to maintain in such an enclosed area.
All other places, such as standing at sports events, in museums and so on will be able to remove the mask mandate.

Of course, removal of the facemasks will be a central government decision.

The next meeting of the interterritorial council to discuss covid restrictions will be held this Wednesday.

The main talking point will be the cancelling of wearing facemasks indoor. The health authorities have stated April 12th, before the Easter break, as the date when they no longer become compulsory.

Last Thursday, a motion called "Citizen's Request" was put to the council of deputies (parliament) to have them removed and this was agreed by a majority vote. This now has to be discussed at this health meeting.

Some regions, such as Andalusia, are saying Spain should wait until after Easter but they are now in the minority. Cases are coming down but, as they now only report cases in at risk groups and those hospitalised, that should be expected. The 56,000 new cases in the last two weeks only applies to those at risk which includes those over the age of 60. The Minister of Health has stated the removal of the mask indoors would be in steps as already mentioned.
