I’m not sure what you are asking? Are you asking if health i insurance covers pre existing conditions or are you asking if the Spanish health service would continue your treatment ??

As a non resident you would need private health insurance unless a reciprocal health scheme is established between Spain and UK post January
Brexit.

Earlybay, does that mean a resident expat not receiving UK state pension is currently entitled to free Spanish healthcare. I know there's no deal in place post Brexit yet, but is that the arrangement at the moment. Many thanks Paul.

Wow this question has been asked hundreds of times so I will keep it short

Health insurance won’t cover existing conditions so answer is no

As your 44 you have some options

1 get a job then you are in the system and the answer is yes
2 Start your own business and pay autónomo each month answer is yes
3 Become a resident then after 1 year elect to pay approx €60 per month into the valencian scheme called convenio answer is the yes but you pay full price for prescriptions.

However all the above may be invalid after Brexit as residencia might be a very very big hurdle

One other option marry an eu national you might then be covered

Regards
