HELP I know I am a wimp but does anyone know of a dentist in the Quesada, Torrevieja, Alicante, La Zenia region that will extract a tooth under general anaesthetic by a proper anaesthetist. I was lucky to have it done this way in the U.K. I am petrified of having it done with just being numbed - I will panic & I know I would start to flay about so no good. Only helpful positive answers please, we all have our phobia’s. TIA

I thought Smile in Torrevieja would do it so I called them and unfortunately they don't, Try Sonia, she is highly recommened on here, you'd have to do a search for the number. I know how you feel, that's what I used to have done for a filling!! I don't bother now as you really and truly don't feel a thing and I know it will all be over in 10 mins, that's how I deal with it as i don't think they like to give you a general these days unless its really necessary.

Thanks for your help & information & for phoning Smile in Torrevieja how kind of you. It will have to be general anaesthetic I am afraid as I would just be flaying about all over the place. A friend of mine was told her tooth would come out easy then had the dentist knee on her chest pulling with all his might - she neatly passed out. That was in the UK.

I don't know if Sonia would do general anaesthetic but she is genuinely very gentle. No-one likes dental procedures but my wife (who has similar fears to yourself) has had a tooth pulled by her & even she would go back, albeit reluctantly. The details for Sonia are

Dr Sonia Calatayud (Dentist)
Calle Pueblo Nureda 1
03170 Rojales
Tel 966 713 051

She really is very gentle, understanding & her pain management is exceptional. She also speaks excellent English

I'll second that PedroPete. My kids book an appointment with him when they come over from UK, won't trust anyone else.

Hi Pedro Pete, please can you tell me where the ‘British Dental Practice’ is. Is it the same as Arches practice? Thank you.

Hoppy 1 if its of any help im a retired fully qualified Hypnotherapist & good at removing fears & phobias & if any help one of the Dentists in the UK that i helped train in Hypnotherapy allowed me to sit in his surgery & observe him doing a full top & bottom layers of teeth before inserting a lovely twinset in the patients mouth with no pain whatsover. Doing it that way the fear of the dentist & the fear of pain is removed. I was even approved by my local Hospital in the UK to do painless childbirth for any patients that had a fear of it & the pain. So if its of any help just email or PM me its €50.only
