MRI Scan

Hi all,

I had an appointment yesterday with Denise (osteopath) at Quesada Fitness Gym who I can highly recommend absolutely brilliant!

She advised me that I need an MRI scan done on my back

Does anybody know the approximate cost of an MRI scan?

And where is the best place to go to have one done privately?

Tia

I can't tell you the cost, because it's being covered by my health insurance, but I'm having one done at the Quiron hospital, in Torrevieja, tomorrow. If you give them a ring (they speak English) I'm sure they'll give you am approximate cost. https://www.quironsalud.es/torrevieja/e ... ic-imaging

I just Googled and it looks around 280 - 450 but best to call Quiron and ask. Have you not got Spanish medical cover?

It will be the best money spent if you can afford it. Once you have a proper diagnosis on your back you can learn how to an age it. Denise is excellent and there are lots of exercises that will help once you know what it wrong. This is from personal experience.

What health insurance company are you with garysl?

I was with Caser when i first came over 5 years ago but cancelled my policy as I was not using it enough to get the full benefits of what I was paying.

However, when I did have to use it I did go to Quiron who where excellent

I'm with Salus. This is the first time I've claimed anything off them in 4 years. Ripped tendons in my shoulder and the specialist at the Quiron says I need an MRI scan and so I'm going tomorrow. Salus have been great so far. There was a mix up about authorising the payment for the scan, which caused a bit of a delay, but that was down to the admin at the Quiron. Salus authorised the payment the day after it was requested.

You won't be able to just book a scan you need a doctor's referral which will cost 120 euros with a doc at Quiron and then the MRI and then back to the doc for the results which is included in the 120 I had it done about twelve years ago and cost about 500 euros in total good luck
