To obtain residence status, does the application have to be submitted before 01/01/2021 or does it have to be approved before 01/01/2021 ?

For first-time applicants for a TIE/residency, you have to submit your application no later than 31 December 2020. Once that has been done, you (and the Spanish authorities) have until 30 June 2021 to complete and issue the TIE.

Thd easiest and best way to obtain Resedencia is to use an agent to do it for you, trust me we've been through this door, the Policia require all the documentation not only to be correct but also very much appreciate it being in the correct order, this helps ease the Resedencia procedure, having spoken to many people before we did ours we decided to use The Office based on La Marina 1 because of the reccomendation and 2 the health insurance was cheeper there than anywhere else we got quotes from, the team there are very effecient and nor expensive by any means.highly reccomend them.
