Establishments here do not take any customers details so we would not know of any problems .

The government have put an app on all mobile phones here in Spain, "Covid-19 exposures notifications" If you go into your phone settings, click on Google & it will b the first thing you'll see. If you so desire, you can download & activate the app, so Yes there is something in place here in Spain.

.....and I regularly read on this web site that people feel safe in Spain. I guess it must be people who aren't using the bars and restaurants.

Think I'd prefer a system that's nowhere near perfect to no system at all.

Radar Covid app from the Spanish Government

This app will tell you if you have been in the proximity of anyone who has CV19.
How it works is if you have been in the vicinity of someone who has CV19 the app will notify you and request that you go get a test..once you have had your test..if positive..you will be issued with a code to enter into the app..then other users will be notified if they have been in close proximity to you..so the circle begins again.
All you need to do is have your bluetooth turned on...
No it won't drain your battery
No big brother isnt watching you..
Yes will will know of you're at risk
Yes I am relieved when I look at my app and its says..low contagion threat..

No names or locations of where you've been are shown..
It's totally discreet..

VID radar, official prevention app for COVID-19 of the Government of Spain

COVID Radar is the application designed and run by the Spanish Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Radar COVID alerts you anonymously of the possible contact that you have had in the last 14 days with a person who has been infected using Bluetooth technology of low consumption.

COVID radar also allows:
- Anonymously communicate your positive diagnosis.
- Communicate the exhibition anonymously to the people with whom you have been in contact

COVID radar guarantees security and privacy and is 100% anonymous. For this reason we do not request your name, your phone number, or your email.

I have never been given a contacts form to fill inđ

The testing system is overloaded by people asking for a test when they have no real reason to require one. Of course the system is bound to be suffering as people are so scared and that is not what the idea was . The test and trace are having problems with people testing positive and refusing to self isolate. Others refuse to take the call. Others give incorrect telephone numbers. They are up against people with no conscience or honour. Blame people not the system.

I was recently released from hospital after surgery here in Dublin, 9 days after my release I received a call from track and trace telling me that I was a close contact of a confirmed case of covid. Thankfully I was negative as after 9 days I would have had a fair few contacts.

This was heralded as a "world beating" track & trace system by Johnson & Hancock and it cost a fortune to be developed by a mate of Cummings. In reality it is clearly anything but world beating, its just yet another embarrassing tory spend a fortune, talk big, deliver little then when it turns into a pig's ear blame someone else or do yet another U turn. Sad innit.

There is a new UK track/trace system launched today BUT.....it only flags up if you score more than 900 points.

900 points e.g. = if you are within 0-2 metres of a person affected for 15 minutes or more.

So, I suspect, if I were to visit a restaurant and the person taking orders/serving/taking payment from me had cv19, it would not identify a problem cos I wouldn't be interacting with that person for 15 minutes.
