SHORT CHANGED AT GAMA

There was a post the other day about being short changed at Gama by 1 euro. I went there today and the lady who usually serves me wasn't there, but the long haired one was. I gave her a 5 euro note for an item of 89 cents and she short changed me by 1 euro....surprise, surprise. She followed me to the door saying how hot it was and her glasses were steaming up, but saw me checking the change. I turned around to go back in, but she met me at the door with the 1 euro!!

I have checked my receipt and her name is on there. I will be taking this receipt with me to the store and ask for the manager. So, please be aware of this lady, as I'm sure she is doing this to people who give her cash.

I'm very surprised that shops in Spain are still handling cash payments.
In the UK almost all shops only accept cards. Contactless payments are far safer for the customer and the shop.

The added advantage is you can't be short changed.

So, wear masks, maintain social distancing, don't take unnecessary risks, keep away from crowded places etc, etc.....then pop in your local shop, pay cash and catch the virus ! Crazy...

I don't use a credit card or a bank card - have used cash and sanitised my hands before and afterwards. No problems. My choice!!

Shops cannot refuse cash. I normally pay by card but if it's just a few euros I pay cash. Not a problem.
