Am I being paranoid? Just need advice as to whether the attached email is genuine or some sort of scam.

Looks dodgy - see the “from” -
******@aim.com- treat with extreme caution -
ADVICE-do not open any attachment or make any reply to it
And - see Microsoft site re Outlook

I use outlook and haven’t had any such notification! Also, what business who make changes on Christmas Day!

Total scam. Giveaway is the originating email address which is nothing to do with Microsoft. You are not Paranoid, just properly careful.
