Getting the pine wardrobes painted.

We have highly polished pine wardrobes and top boxes which I’d prefer to have painted/ sprayed off white.
Who would you recommend for this job or should I buy the FRENCHCHIC paint that Chrisdee mentioned not long ago? It’s time to lighten these doors and I’d like them to be painted soon. I’m definitely not a painter but if needs be, I’d attempt it.

Last time we were over,I decided to get the solarium painted as I’d noticed several others nearby painted white and looking fantastic. We needed the stairwell, walls along the steps and 4 long walls to be done….all were pale pebbledashed. I ‘phoned a man recommended on here and he came to look at the job. Spoke English, said that he would do 2 coats of paint and a very professional job. Off he went promising an electronic quote. Sure enough, the email came through. I had expected that it might possibly cost up to €300 but hoped it would be less. The quote given was €560. No way were we going to pay anything like that. Our painter here in NI charges £90 per day and is a superb decorator so reckoned that it might even be cheaper in Spain.
I won’t be asking this chap to paint my wardrobes as I couldn’t afford him.
Has anyone had their wardrobes painted and if so, how much did it cost?
Thanks.

Look up "The little painter" on Facebook, contact her, she will probably come out and do it. Have a word and she maybe able to give you a rough quote. She uses that Frechi paint

Okay Chris. Will do. I wonder what she’ll charge for doing it. Any idea? I have to sell the idea to my husband who will say “ I’m not spending another penny on that house”. But I’ll talk him around hopefully! I’m told that my beloved house is to be sold as we are getting too old to! I detest the thought but realise that he’s speaking the truth. Always thought the family would want it but they like to stay in hotels now that they have children. We will see, I hope to get another couple of years before letting it go.

I've not got a clue re price, just contact her via FB and she'll give a rough idea. Shame if you have to sell as you enjoy it so much, dare say all the palava these days has put him off.

More our age to be truthful. As you get older, travelling is more stressful and I can cope well with stress but he doesn’t. Anyway, we’ve been very lucky to have enjoyed the guts of 20 years in the house and we’ve loved every minute of it. In fact, it’s got better since our previous neighbours left and new people took over and massively improved their house which has encouraged us to do the same.
Maybe meet up when we go over soon. R

Unfortunately Jayne aka The Little Painter is not too well at the moment, so I really don’t think she is doing any commissions. But knowing Jayne she can’t sit still, even though she should really be resting.

But do not despair Frenchic is so easy to use, it goes on really easy.
My whole house has been Frenchiced as it very soon became an addiction.
I’ve done my kitchen, light fittings, curtain rails, tables, chairs, doors, door frames, wardrobe frames, bedside tables, beds, chest of drawers, vases, tiles, lamps, ornaments, etc. Even the barbecue and the toaster have been Frenchiced.
It covers pine so easy and I should know my home was pine before I discovered Frenchic.
Couple of before and after photos to help you decide.

Wow! I’m impressed. What a marvellous transformation. Well done.
I’m definitely sold on this paint and I think I’ll do it myself. What size pot of paint should I buy? I may do both wardrobes both inside and out.
Also, where do I go to buy the paint?
Many thanks for showing me your pictures. You should be very proud of your handy work. R
