Calling all gardeners out there, we have a lemon tree that only had 1 lemon on it when we moved into our villa, I cut the tree back about October and cleared all the shrubs away from the base of the tree to let sunlight get to the bottom of it, what can I do to get it to grow more fruit, when should it grow fruit ?

It all depends on the type of Lemon tree when it fruits. There are some known as luna lemons that fruit all year round. The best time to prune fruit trees is after they have fruited. If in the ground only water once a month but give it a good water. If the tree is still young, under 5 years old it may not fruit well until it is established.

Our gardener put fertilizer (blue pellets) on the soil twice a year. And we always have lots of lemon.
