Thinking about buying a Dyson Air Flow Heater has any one got one looking for advice which type is best and what sort of heat they give out.

The only Dyson I have ever had has been two vacuum cleaners. They are the worst vacuums I ever bought in my life. This has put me off using DYSON products period. They are overly complicated and under-performing in my view.

The first time I got a Dyson and it went wrong I thought, meh it must be me... but no, I was wrong, it was Dyson. Hence, I wouldn't touch any of his other products with a bargepole.

Sorry, it doesn't specifically relate to the product you are seeking to buy, but for me, because it's a Dyson I would look for another brand.

My daughter has every dyson product ! Years ago when she was pregnant, her husbands got a Dyson fan for her. Quite, extremely efficient and pricey. I’ve used it and it’s A1. Latest gadget she has are the hair stylers. Other daughter has them too and now daughter in law had to get them as she was so impressed by them.
I have the cordless wand vacuum cleaner and love it. Also, daughter has the dyson hair dryer which is so quiet and I use it when visiting as she has now upgraded to their latest model ( should add that her husband is totally sold on Dyson )
I’d say your heater will be excellent. Wish I could say that I have one but sadly don’t.

We've had one for approx 4 years, whatever the model was then. Very good and heats room quickly, very quiet and the remote control is excellent. Only concern is as there is no residual heat, just a fan, then similar to air con I ot heat the area quickly cools down when unit turned off. Don't k ow about energy efficiency either

All electric give out the same BTU's per hour per kw that is the same amount of heat in a given time.
You have to consider paying a few hundred for a fancy one or a few euros for a potetial Chinese fire hazard.
Dyson are fine but how much heat can you buy with the 300 euros you save.

Dyson use 2000watts on full that would be 2kw per hour. I think the price per kw is 25 cents
(Take your last bill and dived the total cost by kws used)
So around 50 cents per hour.

Thanks for the info but not interested what it cost to run the running costs is what it is.

If you like to buy a quality item, then buy it. I imagine it will be shaped in a very modern look and it should be very efficient and quiet.
As it is lightweight, you’ll be able to use it in any room. Otherwise, put the heat mode on your aircon in as many rooms as you have them in and keep them all running with doors open. I’ve done this on cold evenings and it has definitely taken the chill out of the whole house. Otherwise, heat rooms you are using.

Unfortunately there's people who have to choose to heat or eat and the above post on running costs etc very helpful to some on how to work costs out

Since you asked specifically "what sort of heat they give out" I think what fireroute was trying to say is that an electric fan heater is an electric fan heater and that whatever power goes in comes out as heat meaning that styling and bragging rights excepted there is little or nothing to be gained by paying huge amounts of money for one and especially the outrageous prices Dyson charge!
